Raquel Rojas is a multilingual actress from Venezuela, based in Los Angeles. Widely known for her role as Rosa Forlán in the successful Nickelodeon Latin American telenovela, Grachi. She has also made appearances in various Telemundo telenovelas and indie films.
Early Life
Born in Mérida, Venezuela, Raquel has been interested in the performing arts since childhood. At six years old, her first foray into theatre was at the community theater in Los Salinas. Later on, after moving to Caracas, she continued performing through most of her childhood and adolescence; studying with a number of acting teachers to better perfect her method.
She completed two years studying Social Communication at Andrés Bello Catholic University before moving to the United States, where she completed her Bachelor of Performing Arts and Film at the University of Miami.
Career
Speaking four languages: Spanish, English, Italian, and French. Raquel has had the privilege of studying dramatic arts under the tutelage of Noel de La Cruz, Julio César Mármol and Karl Hoffman, among others. Media outlets have noted that Raquel has a “fresh and attractive image;” the newspaper Avance has commented that “[it] has become synonymous with beauty and talent in distant lands.”
After graduating from university, Raquel had small but well-received roles in numerous telenovelas such as Perro Amor, El Fantasma de Elena and Alguien te Mira. Later on, she appraised the role of Rosa in the teen telenovela Grachi, where she gained international recognition. Premiering in Latin America in 2011, the wildly successful series went on to renew for multiple seasons, culminating in 2013.
Since her early success, Raquel has appeared in various commercial and film works, including mini-series and indie films such as Rough Draft and The Exorcism of God.
